Northern Beef Industry vital for economy

Friday 3 March 2017

Starting today, the Northern Beed Expo at Charters Towers, Queensland, hosts a combination of trade exhibitions and practical demonstrations of innovative tools and techniques for the cattle industry.

Proudly sponsored by TUFF Bullbars Australia, this event is a hub for knowledge to aid productivity and best practice beef production.

As the world’s largest exporter of beef in 2016, Australia is seen as one of the most efficient producers of cattle, with 11.3 million head located in Queensland alone (ABS).

According to the ABS, the Australian beef and cattle industry was worth $17.87 billion in 2015-16 and employs around 200,000 people.

The beef industry is important for the domestic market as we consumed around 25.4kg of beef per person in 2015-16. (FAO)

The growth of Asian economies puts our northern beef industry in the box seat on a supplier of quality protein.

Many of TUFF Bullbars clients work and rely on beef and cattle in Australia as their livelihoods are directly influenced by this industry.

TUFF’s Marketing Manager, Rebecca Warr said, “TUFF Bullbars is very proud to be a part of the Northern Beef Expo which is on today and tomorrow in Charters Towers.”

“We encourage people to support the Australian Beef and Cattle industry and the Northern Beef Expo as its helps to grow Australia’s meat production long into the future,” Rebecca concluded.
